Every commissioned article is assigned to at least one independent reviewer before publication. ExpertStack reviewers are domain experts - engineers, leaders, and practitioners with enough depth to know not just whether something is correct, but whether it matters.
The argument
Does the argument hold up under scrutiny?
Technical accuracy
Is the technical reasoning accurate and appropriately nuanced?
Honest trade-offs
Are the trade-offs honestly represented?
Context and prior art
Is there relevant context, prior art, or counterevidence the author should address?
You'll deliver structured written feedback that the author uses to revise. If a piece isn't ready, you say so. If it's strong, your endorsement carries weight - publicly.
Your profile is your record
A visible record of your judgement.
Reviewers have public profiles on ExpertStack. Yours shows your areas of expertise, the articles you've reviewed, and the pieces you've authored yourself. Over time, it becomes a record of your judgement - the kind that doesn't require self-promotion to speak for itself.
Reviewing and authoring aren't separate tracks. Most ExpertStack reviewers contribute both ways, and many start one before the other.

How reviewers join
Filled by referral, kept small.
If you've been pointed here, someone in the ExpertStack network thought your expertise and judgement were worth it. We keep the reviewer pool deliberately small - the credibility of the process depends on it. We look for people who have:
Genuine depth in at least one of ExpertStack's topic areas.
The judgement to distinguish a weak argument from an unfamiliar one.
Writing clear enough to give feedback an author can act on.
No undisclosed conflicts of interest with the articles they're assigned.
What you get from it
The most valuable thing is positional.
The honest answer is that the most valuable thing reviewers gain isn't formal - it's positional. Endorsing work puts you in conversation with authors working on problems adjacent to yours, and the discipline of evaluating someone else's argument rigorously tends to sharpen your own thinking in ways that are hard to get elsewhere.
